The French partner visa for the family of a foreign national in France
A foreign national does not have to be married to a French citizen to be able to join him or her in France. If you are not married, and your partner is not yet a French national (but he/she is simply residing in France for temporary or permanent purposes), you can still join your partner with a partner visa in France.
When joining a foreign national already living in the country, who has residency in France, two different situations can apply, therefore, you will need to follow different spouse visa for France requirements:
- The person you are joining in France has been lawfully residing in the country for at least 18 months;
- The person/spouse has refugee status, or benefits from protection as a stateless person.
When you apply for a spouse visa in France for the first situation described above, the application is made to the Regional Office of the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII) and our immigration lawyers in France can assist you.
Some of the visa fees for family joining an individual who is already residing in France include the following:

- 15 euros for the adopted child;
